Did you know that muscle mass decreases approximately 3–8% per decade after the age of 30 and this rate of decline is even higher after the age of 60?  This is one of the causes of osteoporosis and it makes us more vulnerable to injury as we age.  As we age, our muscle mass decreases approximately 3 to 8 percent per decade after the age of 30, with the rate of decline being even higher after the age of 60.
